..i vant..

so my new obsession(s) has been fab.com and thefoundary.com

I check these sites like saying my bedtime prayers... and why have I not heard of these sites before blows my mind. I never buy anything, but for some reason it has molded its way into my daily scheduled... Although i do find it easier to convince myself to waste money on random things... but one thing that i do like about fab.com is that features a good amount of smaller businesses and im all about supporting the little guys... woot woot..

my latest finds: (that I cannot afford)

20th Obsession: unique vintage pieces..

there is something about this ring that mesmerizes me..
Betty Cooke Gold Ring w/pearl - $1,100 - $715

why would i ever need a crown? (yes, its literally a crown)
well other then some delusional reasons.. i think it would really be a cute dust collector to have around the house and when i'm feeling a bit royal I could pop it on and work on my wave....

Sterling Vermeil Crown - $1,980 - $1,287

i'll keep dreaming...

..iThankYou..

along with the rest of the world i will add my bit to the remembrance of
Steve Jobs..

i sit here and i...
type on my macbook pro,
my iphone in my lap
with my ihome to the right
and my ipad to my left
not to mention my: external keyboard,
headphones,
usb cables...
i could go on..

these are merely some tools that I use like a religion.. so much that i am known to sometimes pray to them instead of god.. I call these "things" TOOLS because that is exactly what they are... Tool - n - anything used as a means of accomplishing a task or purpose. (and the fact that electronics sounds so geeky..)

These "tools" grants me the capability to capture a ridiculous amount of images of my dog, the food im served, buildings i pass, and that crazy lady on the subway... tools that help me to navigate through this crazy city as if ive lived here for years and at the same time allows me to connect back to my family when my heart is a bit homesick...

its obvious that Steve Jobs has not only impacted my life, but the lives of probably the entire world... all i can say is iThankYou...

rest in peace steve jobs.. you deserve it..

..Fitzgerald's..

After watching Midnight in Paris.. I have been inspired to learn more about the historic characters/writers presented in the movie... Found this piece on the Scott Fitzgerald on one of my favorite blogs: Apartment Therapy

this piece gives a quick summary on how awesome Mr. Fitzgerald was and how he's not only an icon from his writing but also from his trendsetting style.

"When it comes to the height of style in 1920's America, F. Scott Fitzgerald was the man. His writing, his relationships, his dress, and his lifestyle were all at the forefront of what the Jazz Age had to offer. Both observer and participant in the roaring days of the 1920's, Fitzgerald literally defined the times:" (via Apartment Therapy)

you can check out the full story here... and if thats not enough Fitzgerald's for you.. wiki it...

next stop... Hemingway

..not your typical chick flick..

I REALLY enjoyed this movie..

I expected this movie to be your typical chick flick.. but when a friend recommended it and said I'd really enjoy it.. I said.. "eh why not!" I have a mound of movie passes that needs to be used before I jet of to the big apple..

my thoughts? Totally not what I expected! I loved it! Written and directed by Woody Allen, you would think what the heck was he thinking with Owen Wilson? Wrong! The story was sort of drawn out and some what depressing, but throw in a light hearted comedian.. and voila! Don't get me wrong.. this is a love story, but not your courted, hot passionate, tear jerking love story.. This kind of fantasy is focused on things one is passionate about.. the things/thoughts that make you tick, give you goose bumps, and gets ya all excited inside... For him: writing.

If you like/love the Fitzgeralds, Hemingway, Stein, Picasso, Toulouse-Lautrec... you'll like this movie...

..cover to cover..

Ever since Beauty & the Beast was hammering into every little girls fantasies, there is something magical about in home libraries that just gets me.. the feeling you get when skimming through the titles of each book while imagining the secrets and stories that fill the room... (i just made myself sound creepy..)

this odd attraction is probably derived from my nerdy dad who constantly had his nose in a book. not to mention his homemade bookshelf that consist of cinder blocks and ply wood.... or possibly deriving from my childhood home in kailua, which had a built in bookshelf in my room... i remember on boring sundays after watching some sort of disney vhs saga.. i would monkey climb the wall to inspect each and every shelf.. probably in hopes of finding a portal to the Hawaii entrance to the Lion, Witch, and the wardrobe... how I would love to get lost in Narnia...

love these modern versions..

..nice surprise..

this movie was a nice surprise... normally I have no care to see mr. mcconaughey. But since a girlfriend snagged $6 movie tickets from groupon, I said ehh why not.. marisa tome is worth seeing, and i was interested in what ryan phillippe had to bring back to the big screen...

breaking out of his romantic comedy/hot bod norm but still keeping his cocky southern attitude.. id say he did a pretty good job... marisa was amazing as always... ryan... ehhhh

gonna pull up my cousin vinny on netflix..

..heart break..

Being the borderline psycho dog lover that I am...

this picture breaks my heart.. but at the same time happy that these two were reunited after the devastating earthquake/tsunami that wiped out Sendai.

i had to give my dog an extra long hug after i saw this..

picture & information via: moca + miles

Among the many human tragedies, here’s a heart warming happy ending for one dog owner in northern Japan:

“Man tearfully hugs his dog after being found by a firefighter. From Sendai-shi, Wakabayashi-ku (Tokyo Shinbun)

Make donations to an animal organization like Ark who are taking in the 4 legged victims of the disaster at their shelters.

Or donate to the WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals) who are sending veterinarians to Japan.

please help if you can.... you'll feel good after.. i promise..

a.....

porshe
gshock
gatoraid
kswiss
hp
beats by dre

did i miss anything?

i LOVE eminem.. and I LOVE this song.. hate to say im a bit disappointed with this music video.

Loved the flash backs, the water girl, and his tribute (if it was one) to his (dre's) son. however, i didn't love the Mr. Freeze/Frankenstein story line, along with the heavy product placement..

i prefer them live, real, and in the moment..

..fuming..

..she's back!..

gahhh... how i missed her..

Adele is seriously one of my favorite artists... like the type id jump into a hysterical fit if i ever got to see her perform... Meeting her would be even better... Along with: michael buble, beyonce, eminem (technically did already while in the pit at this years grammy's), the cast of Glee, and the growing fave.. Florence + the machine.. (an odd range of fave's i know... i'll go ahead and raise an eyebrow at myself..)

Her newest track "Rolling in the Deep" has been my new anthem at work... blasting this song on repeat gets me through those endless purchase orders.. Just the beat itself gets my mood bumpin...

loving this video... love the rippling of the water glasses and the fluid warrior dancer..

my next favorite song on her album: "Someone like you"

now tell me what girl couldn't relate to both of these songs? Living through the ups and downs of heartbreak... the chest busting confidence that puts you on top of the world (Rolling in the deep), but in a split second you find yourself dealing with the fear that you'll be the one that missed the happily ever after bus.. (Someone like you)

Like many girls (ok.. ok and guys) ive known both these feelings all too well..

Adele's album 21 releases Feb. 22, but until then you can check out a track by track description of each song on her new album (here) or you can check out more videos of Adele (here)

luuuuvvvv herrrr... got her cd on pre-order on amazon... can't wait!

..books to the screen..

I think this movie will truly show RPat really has skills. Other then his very alluring vampire role (i missed the remember me role).. im really wondering how he does... I mean come on he's along side a GREAT actress this should really give him the opportunity to break out of that vamp vision we all have him stuck in...

was told the swedish (acting/film making) does it well... Not sure how the hollywood adaptation of the trilogy will be.. still trying to get a chance to read the books...

..i love..

these two movies..

thanks to the low definitions of ineedpopcorn.com my wallet is still full.. but through the foggy haze from my laptop, these movies were amazing... with a LOT of sexual activity...

overall, a GREAT movie... i would have liked to seen a clearer view of their faces, so i could really see the emotion given in the movie.. but i guess thats what i get when i skip the $10.75+ price tag in the big theater.. so i guess this will do until it comes out on dvd...

mila was definitely hot in this one.. on an acting level this is an insanely good movie that id like to research more.. you could definitely sense the determination, desperation, and psychotic spiral once could face if mentally pushed themselves too far.. got me all squeamish through parts of the movie..

this one is next on my list... if it gets released in the US.. ETA for release date in UK is jan 14th 2011...
